The Skiatook Band Program has a long tradition of excellence, in both the Marching and Concert disciplines. The Band consistently places in the upper end at marching competitions, receives superior ratings and attains OSSAA sweepstakes awards. The Band has marched in nationally known parades, and ahs been competitive at Bands of America Regionals.

There are many opportunities for students when it comes to Band. We start each student in the 6th grade, where they can choose from a variety of instruments to learn, at an affordable price. The middle school bands go to contests and festivals. They also compete in regional competitions, play solos and participate in small ensembles. Select students can enroll in Jazz Band, a daily elective that develops the skills of improvisation and history of Jazz.

High School Band students can further develop their musical skills by participating in Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Color Guard. They also have the opportunity to try out for honor band across the state and country, and compete with solos and ensembles. The High School bands frequently attend events and festivals across the United States.
