Skiatook 4H plans Community Service Projects

The Skiatook 4-H club recently completed a community service, with plans for another later this month. Members of the Skiatook 4-H planted a tree at the Skiatook Ag Barn. The club purchased the tree and several members dug the hole in the ground, while several dads’s lifted the tree into the prepared hole. Members then added in dirt and added mulch to the area around the base of the tree. Then members took turns adding four T-posts to keep the strong Oklahoma winds from breaking our tree. The tree is a beautiful addition to the yard and local members will be able to share with their children, that they helped plant the Autumn Red Maple, the spring of 2009.
The Skiatook 4-H meets at the Ag Barn, the third Tuesday of each month during the school year. Anyone student between the ages of 9 and 19 are welcome to attend and become involved with our club. We have several fundraisers and work on several community service projects thru out the year. We will be working with SEAC later this month to help restock their food bank. SEAC members and 4-H members will be at Wal-Mart the weekend of April 18 and 19 collecting can food items.
Members helping with the tree planting were Dalton Brannam, Jessica Briggs, Raymond Carroll, Tristan Carroll, Ben Cowan, Malaya Cowan, Sam Darrow, Lindsey Dollar, Natalie Hines, Charlie James, Wyatt James, and Chloe Willhite.
